The swarming amount of corruption that has overtaken our Washington leadership fervently bothers me. While the public circus goes on to attempt the impeachment of President Trump, there is a sinister undercurrent going on in the White House. Trump is “using the word of God for personal gain.” He also has been violating the Constitution’s protection by advancing religion to promote his version of “Trump is Savior.” In other words, Trump is highjacking religion for his own purposes.
According to Buzz Thomas
According to The Tennessean in an OptEd, by Buzz Thomas (Guest Columnist), “Politicians take the Lord’s name in vain when they use God for personal benefit.” Mr. Thomas talked extensively, as I paraphrase, about the trap of allowing the co-mingling of church and state. His OptEd mentioned, “The heart of the Third Commandment which is often misunderstood.” He shared the concern of using God and God’s good name for our own purposes,” as a retired Baptist Preacher. He also stated as a Constitutional Lawyer, “While the U.S. Constitution protects the ‘free exercise of religion,’ it also prohibits government officials from using their office to advance or inhibit religion.”
Proselytizing for Trump
Do Evangelicals call Trump savior
I believe Trump is counting on the probability that the Democratic House will impeach him. However, he is sure the Republican Senate is bound to protect him should he be tried. Trump is gearing up for his 2020 campaign using a Christian Evangelical Platform. Plus, he is calling upon his 63 million Evangelicals. Do Evangelicals really see him as a savior?
It is always interesting how people like Trump forget that there is a day of reckoning coming. He appears to believe he is absolved from the penalties of doing wrong, as most dictators believe. Trump feels he is invincible.s
God has another end game
In the Old Testament, the message to the people is those who revere God’s word will live on. And, His message was:
And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts. Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.
Malachi 4:3 King James Version (KJV)
Will Trump, his corrupt cronies, and evangelist become the ashes under the soles of others’ feet. There is only one Savior in God’s eyes.
